I see Brian's blogging again

Went to my first away football match last night (unless you count seeing England play San Marino in Italy, but I don't, as that's where I was living at the time). It was less interesting than I expected, but still well worth the effort. Not sure why being part of a much smaller, quieter group of fans should feel more special, but...

Otherwise, yesterday just meandered on. I got to compile two sets of questions for Sky News online chat, which is double the cash (or rather I'm definitely going to invoice them for double, ha). And that's the highlight of my day! Oh, and I got to speak to my other half ([swoon] [flutter] [sigh]). God bless the person who invented the dodgy phonecard bought from some crappy newsagent in Walthamstow...

Word for the day: ne'er-do-well.

What were you doing in Walthamstow?

Can you see any parallels between being part of a smaller, quieter group of football fans and being a fan of lesser-known bands?

Being an away fan IS special innit? Though fewer in number, they're usually far noisier per capita. One of my best memories is being an away fan at Meadow Lane in 1991, cheering home a 1-1 draw with Notts County like we'd just won the League!

The match was in Ilford so he came to mine and we went in my car.

The second half was dire, though they did manage the last half hour with only 10 men on the pitch as they'd used all the subs up and then got an injury.

Actually, it wasn't dire, just a bit boring after the first half. The crowd were more amusing in the second half, but I couldn't help feeling sorry for the oppositions no.3, who was singled out.
