I just remembered I still have the most beautiful song in the world on my server, so I wanted to give you another chance to download it.
I've been making mix CDs for my trip across the south-western United States, too. I toyed with the idea of making them pertinent, but other than The Cure's "Hot Hot Hot" and Dressy Bessy's "California", none of them are.
Although Al Green's "I'm So Tired of Being Alone" is particularly relevant, I guess. Hopefully it won't be for much longer :)

re: mixtapes: There are a lot of songs about California. I know that you could make a cd (or five) out of them. It would be an interesting thing to do, I think, what with the power of the interweb and filesharing at your fingertips.
