My bf...
...gave me a big hug the other day after reading on here that we didn't go to the blogmeet because of my "self-esteem" issues. Isn't he sweet?
He's been reading The Noonday Demon so perhaps he's getting things filtered weirdly, but I thought I should explain myself. I'm not worried or embarassed about meeting bloggers (hell, I've met loads of them, and I'll probably meet loads more at the Kiki & Herb show next week). I'm embarassed (everybody now!) about saying my domain name out loud. Because I still don't know how to say it.
And anyway I had more fun on Gay Pride weekend forcing my friends to watch Angel kill Jenny on the bf's gorgeous Buffy DVD set.
In unrelated news, I just read on What Do I Know that the Happy Mac has been replaced in Jaguar (the next version of OS X). And that now it looks like this. [Note: Image link updated since the mac.com site was shut down by The Man!]
Must. Upgrade. To. OS X. Immediately.

well, it seems that the definitive answer to your problems of pronunciation can be discovered by simply calling the G. Joannou Cycle company, headquartered in Northvale, New Jersey. i just called them up myself in a fruitless attempt to make a recording of the woman on the answering machine. she seemed to be saying "Jo-Ann-a" (you know, like a woman's name) but there was a bit of a drop off at the end, so it might have been an "oo" sort of "u" sound (like Jo-Ann-oo). i can't be sure. but now you can, by simply calling them up at 201-768-9050.
i feel as though i have cured someone of an embarrassing foot fungus that has prevented them from wearing sandals, or something equally satisfying.

1) do the ten, asap. you'll never go back (unless you're one the last five people on the planet still hooked on XPress, which you should abandon forthwith, IMHO).
2) the whole .mac vis-à-via .net is completely wrong and offbase and is, pardon the pun, apples and oranges. It's SOAP and other data exchange protocols versus WebDAV (iDisk) and web mail and other value-added services.
3) the happy mac will still be around, mark my words. Well, the last seed I looked at still had the little dude, at any rate.
Magic Eight Ball sez "ask again soon."
