People I Stalk, Part Two

Today I practiced Team Stalking.

On my way to work this morning, I ran into a friend near the train station. I'll call her Laurel.*

We chitter-chattered our way under the Hudson River, me en route to a day of drudgery (aka blog-reading at my desk) and she en route to the Cloisters to meet an old friend.

When we reached our stop, I noticed one of my stalkees. I'll call him Number Two.** Shaggy hair. Indeterminate ethnicity. Cute bow-legged swagger.

We immediately began following him down the Avenue. For those of you who're*** beginning to think "wow, this brian guy is getting a little creepy with the stalker thing," that was the way we were headed anyway.

I noticed Number Two entering a subway station, so I sent Laurel in after him. For those of you who're thinking "shit, that's really crossing the line," that was the way she was headed anyway.

So now I'm just waiting for Agent Laurel to report back with details. With my luck, she'll end up dating him. Sigh.

* Because that's, like, her name.
** Because that's, like, his name. OK, not really.
*** I don't think I can ever say "who're" again without thinking of this week's episode of the Sopranos. Ralphy, Janice, and something vibrating... I am scarred for life.

001. Laurel

Always happy to oblige, doll. Except I'm sorry to say that being a dozen steps behind him and having to stop to put money on my card meant that he got on the train that I just missed. But I'm fairly sure he DID get on that because I spent my wait for the next train scouring all platforms and found no trace of 'im. Check with me later and I'll dilvulge which train.

And if I were dating him, at least you'd get all the dirt. You know I always come through.
