Spammy Sharpshooter
SPAM: DEAR_FRIEND (0.4 points) BODY: How dear can you be if you don't know my name?
So my provider, pair Networks, has quietly rolled out SpamAssassin across its servers.
I am in spam-killing heaven! I spent months trying to install it myself at work, where it wreaked havoc with our virtual mailboxes and was constantly culled by the terrifying roaming bots that pair employs to keep server usage spikes down (it's like the motherfucking Matrix in there, yo).
But now it's part of the basic web administration for both my work account and home account. I was able to activate and set it with one or two mouseclicks and it's purring along like a dream.
I kind of wish it was a Bayesian filter of some kind, but it's much (MUCH!) better than nothing. Now I might actually be able to use some of the email accounts at work as something other than spam traps. Productivity NOW!

Unrelated to your techy elation: bring back the mp3s! How else am I supposed to amuse myself on my work computer with all this extra memory?

Oh yeah, forgot about that. I took 'em down due to scooping bots and never got around to putting 'em back up. Soon! Swear!

The latest version of Spamassassin has Bayesian functionality built-in, I believe. I've not looked at it.
