Whores love Macs
We were watching Firefly last night -- episode 3, "Shindig," where Mal insults the honor of a man on Persephone who had purchased Inara's services -- when I noticed a funny little detail.
The comm screen in Inara's shuttle was a Powerbook screen turned upside-down.
I am only moderately embarassed that I can recognize Apple hardware just from a bezel and latch mechanism, even when swathed in the luxurious fabric that covers a hooker's space shuttle.

what is this firefly show? before a few weeks ago, i'd never heard about it; now, i catch it forming the foundation of comments with increasing frequency. i definitely feel like the last person to know what it is. even more embarassing is that the first time i ever heard about it was in the context of a wal-mart flier.

Another brainchild of Joss Whedon (along with Buffy the Vapire Slayer). Most people who get excited about TV shows released on DVD are excited about this one because Fox never aired all the episodes of the full season that was made, and what was aired was egregiously out of order - the first episode was shown last, etc.

I must give it whirl: the name firefly is quite alluring.
