So tell me, townie, where DO you get your sushi around these parts?
As my fella has already noted, our new apartment building in the sticks Concord was a charming New England church that was moved, wholesale, several miles through the streets some time before 1900 before ending up at its current location, where it settled amoeba-like around a small, corner laundromat.
Our landlady's townie son, Cutlet*, gave us the grand tour and let us measure everything on Sunday. He was very polite for the child of a slum lord; clearly, the money she's not spending on, say, paint, went directly to his governess. I think my first job once we get moved in will involve hiring him to spruce up the "front yard," aka "the place where the garbage cans and the cans of Bud that missed the garbage can go."
*name changed to protect the tan, Ph1sh-shirt-wearing, probably-ATV-owning (but nevertheless cute) innocent.
Update, since I can't post this as a comment due to overzealous (yet life-saving) spam-blocking: You live in a house, Christopher! You can't compare apartment sizes anymore :)
It's about the same square footage as our current place we think--and our large sofa and two dining room table things will fit no problem. The copious amounts of knotty pine make me feel a bit like a hobbit, but I think I can deal.
Broadband: hell yes, or I wouldn't be going; Starbucks: basically none in the entire state, a serious issue; Cosi: no, but Panera, yes. We actually discovered The Mother Of All Strip Malls just outside of town in a direction we hadn't driven before, so we're good to go with the vast majority of bland, soul-killing American chain restaurants/stores. Yay. And last night I discovered that most Panera locations have FREE wifi, which is pretty cool. I don't know of any other chain restaurants/cafés that give it away like that.

Cute. Everyone should have a Cutlet working in the yard. And by everyone, I mean me. So, the place looks pretty roomy. Is it roomy in real life?

I thought it looked pretty small, actually. I like the olde time rustic doors. Is there broadband there? Starbucks? Cosi?

I keep trying to respond to your comments but MT-Blacklist keeps on keeping me locked out! I can't figure out what I'm writing that would activate the blacklist, so maybe I'll just edit the entry itself instead. Sigh.
