I gots it.
I inexplicably forgot to tell the instructor to put his seat belt on (even though I spent at least half an hour waiting on line rehearsing... excuse me, sir, could you put your seatbelt on? sir, would you mind buckling up? sir, if you don't click it, i'll get a ticket!), but I nailed the parallel parking and the drive-a-straight-line-in-reverse. Look out road, here I come, hesitantly merging and driving several miles with my blinker on!

although now I have something to say when my instructor asks how my "boyfriend" is doing with his driving.

Whoot! Way to go, Brian!
Also, I just wrote you on the comments of Minka's blog. I didn't mean for it to happen. It just did.

Congratulations. I trust you're ready to be "designated driver"?
Sometimes I wish I could drive, but more often I'm grateful I can't. I learned for awhile, but hated it. All my years as a cyclist have instilled a profound mistrust of people in cars that actually being in one myself couldn't shake.
Of course, I'm sure you will be one of the safe, considerate, good ones :)

Congratulations and welcome to the world of inexplicable anger and frustration with your fellow drivers! :-)

Congratulations, old man! Just remember the golden rule: when in doubt - GET ON THE HORN.

Congrats Brian! Now you never have to parallel park again. Also, I trust that moving to NH will mean more frequent blog entries, and possibly a return to irc? I saw Paul Field the other day and he said that Matt wanted to come to Australia. Even if that isn't EXACTLY what he said, I want you and Matt to come to Australia, so hurry up and earn some mad low tax cash in New England and get over here.
