It's a "D.C. insider comedy about a political talkshow host who's plucked off a golf course by aliens" but I imagine the aliens will engage in lots of witty repartee about classism and sexism.

"...Ryan and Marissa have always had the intensity of watching a bowl of fruit slowly rot." Also describes: the entire episode (metahilarity of Imogen Heap's Hallelujah notwithstanding), the entire season, the season before that.

This is a marvelous meditation on science-fictional futures and humanity. Tons of stuff to dredge up and mull over.

While my favorite Go-Betweens album is (predictably) the later, poppy 16 Lovers Lane, this brilliant track from 1983 will remain Grant McLennan's songwriting high water mark for me.
