sit me on the front porch swing and sing me something sweet til i fall asleep
i just realized i still have an ambien left. the reason this is a big deal is because i was saving it because i thought i'd need sometime during the last few days. but i did not. props to my new mental health resilience.
so friday was drinking three bottles of wine with stephanie, billy, and nico, joined later by peter, when the 80 year old scotch came out. after our dreams of having mcdonald's delivered were dashed (they only deliver til 10pm!!) we actually hauled our drunk asses down the street to feed our sick sad fastfood cravings. oh and also? i guess i looked pretty hot in my red high heels because i got catcalled in spanish andenglish.
saturday night i was down in brooklyn with joe and heather and shirley and assorted other folks. i was totally crashing a girl's wedding party and i felt weird. but i hadn't seen joe in 5 years so i think it was worth it. i also got to see my favorite, and that was pretty awesome in and of itself. there was an awkward moment with james at the bar but a few more gin and tonics had me back to my happy sociable self. heather and i made the long journey home together, arriving up in the 'heights at 4:30am.
i didn't wake up til joe called at like 12:30 to make brunch plans. heather and i were pleased to have to only go down to the upper west side instead of back to brooklyn. so brunch was had and the boston crew left to go back to boston, and heather and this boy mike and i putzed around a bit til mike expressed interest in cake shop, so we ran through the rain to catch the subway but even after our sort-of long ride down to the lower east side it was still pouring. we passed the time in a candy store and finally made it to cake shop where, yay! a vinyl sale! i got a liquorice 7" for cza but it turns out he already had it. bah.
so we had coffee and then ended up at yaffa for dinner and then we headed uptown where heather departed for home but mike came back to my place where we watched new york noise and listened to music and drank coronas until he had to head back to that other borough so he could catch a plane the next morning.
la la la.
and today nothing exciting happened except that the milk i bought from the corner store turned out to have gone bad already... again. le sigh.
xo.
