meh. feverish and watery eyes and stuffy nose. lots and lots of orange juice. nyquil for good measure. slept for about 16 of the last 24 hours.

the weekend was lovely. katie & abbie & co. arrived thursday evening, as promised. it was a whirlwind of parking and getting all dolled up in suits and i bade them good luck as they headed off to a job fair or some such. while they were gone i finished cleaning my apartment and blew up the air mattress. friday i had work and school and the wonderful diversions of a key nearly breaking off in the lock of my front door and water pouring from the light fixture in the bathroom, but all resolved itself. we of course hit up yaffa cafe that night where they gave tammy a wee strawberry cheesecake with a candle! then it was off to don hill's where it was buy-one-get-one-free gin & tonics so we drank and danced and waited for helen but the girls were tired because i guess while i was at work / school they had run all around town. we turned in at the respectable hour of 3am and slept in on saturday. we split up, with sherry & tammy headed for museums &c. and me, katie, & abbie heading to brooklyn for shopping & caffeine and dinner. we reunited at my place later that night, after katie had given me & abbie haircuts, and then went to alexis's house where tea was drunk and donuts were eaten. we tried to play the sex & the city trivia game but none of us had seen enough of it to really play. we headed home a little after midnight because - alas! - the girls took off around 10am sunday to get back to pittsburgh at a reasonable hour. photographic evidence of the weekend is on my flickr page.

i somehow made it down to radio to visit rob and drink a free swedish martini and eat late lunch / early dinner, bought catfood and, in a moment of presience, nyquil & orange juice, and went home. took the nyquil before bed, woke up this morning feeling like hot buttered ass, called in sick, and went back to sleep. hence the cycle of sleeping for 16 hours.
