Oh man, I am listeing to the version of Tommy now-with-added-LSO, and ugggggg. BAD BAD BAD. Lets add a choir and some strings! We are '"serious" now! If there's no Ann-Margret, I don't want to know about it. And Jesus Christ Superstar really is a better rock opera about a Christ figure. The lyrics of Tommy often have "LOOK AT THE JESUS SYMBOLISM LOOK LOOK" written all over its forehead in a Sharpie sometimes, whereas JC has yummy leitmotifs and Judas being resurrected.
