terrorism, shmerrorism: crimes against fashion!

So I bothered to watched New York Noise on WNYE last night (at the moment the main reason to watch is it's the only PBS station that has a Needle Arts show, dude, how do I get a job at L10n Y@rn??) and finally saw, and therefore finally heard, M.I.A.

Um, ok, but the more I think about it, the more I realize, the outfits in that video look like they were inspired by the Mattel Hot Looks dolls. Does anyone remember them? They had a softish body with vinyl heads and were about 18 inches tall. There were about 5 and were international models from around the world! They had very elaborate layered outfits to buy, and Mimi the french one, and, uh, one of the other ones had a very pastel color scheme. And, oh my god, I wanted them all when I was 9. or 10. Or however old I was.

As for the song, well, it's no Spongebob Squarepants sampling and endless loop dance tune. Now THAT'S a fantastic song.

can a girl with thighs (non-thunder, but meaty nonetheless) actually wear Bermuda shorts? Can I stick with capris? Pedal pushers? I only have a few more weeks to address this issue, as it is You KNow Where.
