The Union Square Knit Out was .... ok. Maybe I should have signed up for the learn to crochet lessons. Instead I left after 30 or 45 minutes and walked around to all the knitting shops. Hey I got 10,000 steps in.
Who knew middle aged ladies were VICIOUS for free shit. The free knitting needle booth UGH UGH. (Size 15 bamboos = good for staking vampires?) I got some nice free magazines, as well as some with, er, scary patterns. I saw an ad for a rip off Strawberry Shortcake doll with a red hat lady outfit. WRONG WRONG WRONG.
The Suss store is ok. Own line yarns are probably competively priced against other luxury yarns, but you can get Brown Sheep cheaper elsewhere!
The knitting cafes were both on the hectic side, but that's ok.
I'm still looking for more colors in Lorna's Laces that I want. But no one has them! Or they only have ONE SKEIN.
Also, this month's MC bill had over $300 spent on crafts, so it's yarn moratorium time again. Or yarn diet, or whatever. I am making the skinned muppetfun fur jacket, so that will get rid of some yarn. And yet, I really want size 5 16" Inox needle EVEN THOUGH I have the Denise set which means I cna have circulars in ANY SIZE. Stop me plz.
I have to find some sort of charity knits to knit for. Preemie hats? Animal blankets? Soldiers abroad? I gave some squares for the Point's project, but it wasn't a lot.
