And I love you TOO, Hudson County!

from the Lonely Planet New York Guide. "Today, most people, even many residents, would question whethere Jersey City is worth a detour." Hey, fuck you, too, Lonely Planet!!! (Is that very Jersey of me?) May I remind everyone of the problems LP caused Sally and Rosemary in Canada? Hrrmph.

I wuv you, Satellite

I am watching But I'm a Cheerleader It's so dopily cute. Is the soundtrack available? It's (uh-oh) kinda indiepoppish, but the movie opens with April March's "Chick Habit"

I though tonight's Law and Order was an unknown one, but AIIIIEEEE! THOSE SHOULDERS! There's nooooo way I could forget THAT body hair. And big uggh on the family trauma, even if it is Briscoe's daughter angst. I blame Detective Curtis for these plot contrivances, who cares about your family! (I also blame him for the severe and shameless stuntcasting of late, hellooooo J.Ro, ugh)

"Can you tell be my literary and cinematic references that I'm a fag?"

Ha ha, I love Bruce LaBruce.

Since I was linked by Brian when I was composing my Endless Love gross out rant, I thought should I apologise for offending potential new readers? But I say, I'm not the one who needs to apologise, that's Scott Spencer's job.

In I KNEW I KNEW IT NEWS, the Martha epsisode is on Law and Order next week.

More Pain

Dear brain,
Stop dreaming about fucking icky men.
Yours,
rosemary
PS Please do not respond by making me have the GWB dreams again.

(And that's fucking as in the verb not the adverb. [At least, I think it's an adverb, it's modifying the icky, not the men.])

ow

Dear uterus,
Hurry up and start WEEPING already!
Yours,
rosemary

OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Everything hurts.

I still have my bruises from two weeks ago when I had to battle a freezer compartment to get veggie burgers. Why doesn't Shop Rite have stepstools the way libraries do?

I was going to wash my hair today, but why bother? It's only going to get smoky and gross. Cold weather brings out the dirty in me.

I'm getting back cramps AND STILL NO BLOOD.

Speaking of, who's read Endless Love? That scene where they wake up caked in menstrual blood? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY WAS THIS WRITTEN? "A little later, Jade sat up and pulled her Tampax out and dropped it beneath the bed." Eww, hello, did her mother not teach her right? Oh, and Alice Adams? "The sexual passages are dazzingly original?" ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY?

Anyway, where was I?

Snow Sucks

I stayed in and watched the DVD of Fiddler on the Roof. Topol was only 35 when he made the movie! Damn, that's like finding out Christopher Plummer was only 34 when he played the Captain. Hot guys in musicals who are playing older than they are, rowr! And HA HA Norman Jewison was all "Topol's sexxxxxy in this scene" during the audio commentary. Vindication for Sally and Rosemary! If the director says YOU KNOW it's true. If I watch The Sound of Music, will Robert Wise say similar things about CP?

(Also NJ called Michele Marsh "The Pretty Daughter" which is what I was thinking, but would never say!)

I also listened to the Tommy soundtrack AGAIN. I wish they would rerelease it on DVD with Ken Russell and Ann-Margret commentary. I want a KR box set with lots of added extras please.

Rummage Sale

I am sad, the church sale had no records. But it has Go Ask Alice (Oh what a horrible yet retrohelltastic book it is). I got silver shoes. Something to wear with all my 60s dresses, including the insane shifts I bought today. Maybe I'll go back next week and buy more. I wish it were summer, then I could wear them. I need white go-go boots, to wear with the white dress, then I will have an outfit earily similar to one of my 60s Barbies. The dresses have TWO sets of darts. Ooooh, darts. I wish I could sew. I need some old t-shirts so I can make my HUDSON UNIVERSITY shirt, ho ho ho.

I had an egg salad sandwich today. Do hard boiled eggs REALLY require more calories to burn than they contain? Hmmm. I need tomato soup so I can make my not-dog spaghetti concoction. (Yes not-dog.) Maybe I'll make the creepy tuna dish instead. I only cook recipes that require a can of soup, they are the best. I should make one while wearing one of my new dresses. I want the That Girl Barbie, as a totem of my uber singlegirlness. When did this happen? When did I turn into the quintessential Bust reader? Hey, it's CRAFT time!)

I need to find some more made cookbooks. Maybe I'll try that "Italian Spaghetti" dinner from the 20s. It looks... wrong. But I like wrong food. But not gelatin molds, I mean aspic, eww. The narrator in GAA takes a gelatin salad to a party. How dated! Did teens even do that back in the 60s? I'd make some though, will anyone eat my savoury jello molds?

Pass the Ration Books

Do I need to start stockpiling recipes for chipped beef and powdered eggs? Should I start a Victory Garden? Maybe I should draw seems up the back of my legs. Will the spectre of terrorist threats become the 00s what the bomb was to the 50s/60s? "C'mon baby the world may end tomorrow, so put out?" Can I get this line to actually work (oh why do I bother asking, we all know the answer's NO if I'M the one using the line.)

One Day I'll Write About Something Else, But Not Yet

Geez, Lothaire Bluteau on Law and Order AGAIN playing a creepy European (Hooray for typecasting!) (FACT: My mom once ran into Maurice Girodias, a European played by LB in I Shot Andy Warhol [a movie with scenes shot at my college], in an elevator)

I saw the Logan tv movie last night. HA HA Ice-T as a pimp, glad to see the tradition of rehiring actors as recurring characters continues.

And the regular L&O had Peter Frechette AGAIN. Well, good to see he's moved up to lawyer from his usual role as suspect/murderer.

My favorite topic

Well, DAMN! I think you can see my house on SVU! Time to do a couple of vodka shots. It's definitely my block, but I missed seeing my actual building. BUT Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T walked in front of my house! This is soooo exciting, yet so sad that I am sooo excited.

I think in the past five nights I've watched some Law and Order creation, every night there was a reference to "Hudson University". HA HA. Well, at least they have some semblance of continuity.
