I bought a recipe booklet that I knew I already had as a potential gift. But I also bought a Betty Crocker Hostess Cook Book and, oops I think I have it! The photos are so familar!
Where does one get dried beef? I keep coming across recipes using it, and, um I'm curious. Maybe 2004 is the year I start my "Cook Creepy Dishes from Old Cookbook" project. I am also going to try embroidery, I think. And iron-ons! And maybe I'll make a sweater!
I mean, was the White Noise year end wrap up saying that David Gest was Liza's second husband? After making such a big deal about the Year of the Gay, well they could have easily asked one "Hey how many times has Liza been married??"
(OMG speaking of LM, I bought the Original Cast Recording of The Act i.e the musical directed by Scorcese!)
(Now, see, I couldn't remember if he directed or produced so I did this novel thing called "LOOKING UP INFORMATION" instead of "pulling it out of my ass" Trio-style)(see: "Brideshead Revisited took place in Victorian England")
(That said, could you please show more 60s awards shows? I mean WHOA, check out Lauren Bacall's hair! At least, I think, it's LB. More big hair instead of smug "look how cutting edge we are" documentaries that have been edited for content?)
So I know at least four people who have turned 27 in the last month (yes, I am including myself in this), so, having listened to my two recordings of Evita quite a bit in the past two dates, let me share this with y'all: do you know how old Mandy Patinkin was when he was singing the part of Che Guevara???
Also is it me, or Carol Channing:Dolly Levi:: Lotte Lenya: Jenny???
Overhead today "Margaret Mead was dyke!"
Which is true I'm sure (I believe everyone is gay until proven otherwise), but may I also mention MM's had a man friend with the best name EVER: Rio Fortune!
I bought a book called Vaginal Politics ha ha.
Stuff I got this week:
30 books for $30, wheee!
pink Adidas for $20
a cashmere cardigan for $3
happy birthday to me!
