demento, must you torture me so???

oh my god, oh my god, Footlight records has Evita in Swedish, Danish, German, and Japanese.

Alas, I am no Cosgrove Replevin and can't bring my self to spend $50+ on a foreign language musical.

(all my vinyl Evitas skip, time to check out some thrifts again)

(Also, what is this highlights from the American recording business??? I want the whole deal!)

i worked an extra hour today.

Today I had a customer named Shayna, and she said she was impressed that I knew how to spell it as most people (i.e. retail workers???) don't. Heh heh, welllllll. I also had another customer from Lakewood NJ. Is this where the Millers live in The Outside World? I forget.

Also another customer is waiting until tomorrow to come in so she can deal with me "because I am the nicest" !!!! I can't remember if she was around when I helped explain Tisha B'av to my assistant manager. Hmm. Maybe that's why I'm nice! Maybe I should go read my Yiddish books and brush up, or somethin'.

claudine longet invitational

So I watched the City Confidential episode about Aspen. The only crime discussed was the Spider Sabich shooting. Oddly, Claudine was only refered to as an actress. NOT ONCE did they mention her singing career! And half of the photos they used of her were her album covers (Of which I have three... in fact time for "The Look of Love" right now!!)

The Girlyhead article about Claudine and the shooting was way better, obviously. It's online somewhere.

Also: I read the Clinton excerpt in the AARP magazine: "I was a fat band boy" Awww. Nothing about watching his mother apply make up, though.

WHOOOOO I HAVE LICENSE

I am beginning to think the examiner I keep getting IS the mean lady. God, she nearly gave me a heart attack.

I found one of my stalkees online recently and I am not sure if I should, ah, attempt contact.

And my body aches all flu like. Not good.

I took out the Outside World from the library, and some other novels, and they are all two week books! Eek! must start reading!

Tomorrow I have work so I can go to another library and take out more books!!

Is it possible to be friends with someone who hates Law and Order?

grumble mumble grr

Ack busy busy busy work week. Stupid six day work week. I soooooo hope I get to drive next week. Then I can sleep until 8!! And go to crafts stores and libraries after work, hooray! I need to put a bumper sticker on it, and do all the presets on the radio. (I am making it an NPR free car! I hate WAMC so much.)

I bought a lot of yarn. And I still want MORE. Some of it is not so hot, but it is nice colors. Maybe I will have enough over to make my super fantastic project.

I want to say something about the wimpster article in Bust/Black Table, because I am really disgusted with the moaning by some boys (and I mean boys) about it. And also something about the charming way that people who make a fuss about being insulted by a publication sure have no qualms about insulting others. I'll say it again: at least the Bust staff members who I've met have social skills. And am I the only one who can balance taking things seriously (yet not over seriously) and having a sense of humor about it?

Also: I think the wimpster phenomenon is related to Men Who Don't Put Out Crisis. (which was noted, what, ten years ago??? oy oy oy)

(Confidential to Saz: I managed to sell a WMNJ CD for $8 at the used store. I prolly would have gotten more online, but whatever)

i heart the 90s

I was reading a message board thread about housemate passive-aggression and suddenly (and fondly) remembered the Masking Tape incedent. In response to a house member labelling drawers and cabinets so utensils and dishes could be 'properly' stored, Sally and I took the leftover tape and labelled EVERYTHING : FRIDGE, WASHINING MACHINE, POTHOLDER, DOOR, CEILING, SINK, TABLE, FLOOR. Oh, that was so so funny. And then they took it all down. No wonder we were the only girls not to get homemade rainbow slippers.

The other really super awesome memory I've been having of college is the time Saz and I watched a bird of prey feast on a squirrel (punk rock squirrel??) from our window in the cafeteria. This was great, obviously, but what made it BETTER was every other student walking by and NOT SEEING THIS TOTALLY AWESOME THING.

Maybe I should make a list of top ten fun college memories of me and Sally ("Why are all the gay boyz on campus such losers? Oh, hi, F**")

closing in on 300???

Ok so today one of my customers had the Monty Python theme on her cell. And yes it was a sheitel lady. Huh? What gives?

I bought the pregnant Midge doll today, so weird. You can put the baby in the fake belly... HEAD UP!!

I work 6 days this week. Once again, another week of near full time hours, but that's ok, I guess. More $$$ for me. That will soon be going all in my car. Grumble grumble. I'm going to have to learn the way to Sussex Co. Oh Jersey! With your cheaper gas and full service stations! Heh, and your expensive insurance rates because you have so many bad drivers because you all learn to drive in parking lots.

Also: to Sazzerkins: I think we also had customers who were of a social group featured on a CI episode. I just thought they were Southern ladies with too much money and makeup! But: big family + Irish last name + what one of coworkers described them as. HMMMMM.

my tummy hurts

24 days! UGH! What is wrong with me??

Also: am feeling oddly popular this week. Will I end up doing something stupid?

Drats, apparently there is a good dealing on a knitting thing at Barnes and Noble, and I am nowhere near one. I guess I need to go to New York next week. And sell somemore CDs. Even though I sold the good ones last week, sob. Less money for me.

vinylathon

Did Frankie Goes to Hollywood change a word or two in their Cover of Born to Run? Beacuse for a moment I was think Well! If Springsteen was this saucy, maybe I will rethink my position. But if it's just just cheekiness on the part of FGTH, well I'll stick with Christopher Cerf and Sesame Street's Born to Add as the only Springsteen I need to know.

(Also, I am trying to decide if there is a difference between the single and album versions of Relax PLEASE PLEASE SHOOT ME)

i need a nap

So I ordered a Kerry Edwards bumper sticker for the cat, mainly to see who her name gets sold to.

I took out 1000+ page book about post WWII, pre biecentenniel development and architecture in NYC. HOT. And some book about record collection. Uh oh!

On of the sheitel ladies appologized on the phone for "being a nudge," ha ha!

I got a post card in the mail from abroad! Exciting!

I keep forgetting I have a magazine bill AND a marathon pledge to pay. But I spent it all on clothes and shoes! Time to sell more CDs.

There's icky craft magazine in the library that had things to do with records. Not QUITE my spead. Decoupage record clocks sound neat, but, uh oh, the images! Lace and butterflies and flowers, whoops!
