why does everything hurt?

Uh oh, lower back pains + kinda gassy + mystery pains = not the return of kidney stones! Bollocks! I still have last years pain killer but a) they aren't stong enough and b) make me throw up and want to die. I can't tell if these mystery pains are mittelschmerz or what.

I got my knit picks catalog, oooo now I want to buy MORE YARN. I restrained my myself from buying $25 worth of acrylics to make a rainbow blanket. But maybe I should have? I can't tell. But I could my a similar amount of wool to make a fake lace wool throw. And I want more SOCK YARN.

I also have lots of new storage containers, but why can't I get around to cleaning up and putting things in them?

Why did I buy a crochet magazine?? I don't even crochet! But I want to make the 70s dress.

did i mention there are satin flower buds in my hair?

I got my hair braided at the Ren Fest. Oh, ow, I have entered dork city.

I am going to see members of my fan club this weekend, so I am quite happy. And the international chapters have been emailing me. I am in an I am sooooo awesome phase.

But wait till they feel my stiff hair, though YIKES. And I'm gonna spray it some more tomorrow!

a 3!

I took an enneagram test. Apparently I am shallow. Isn't that what all the sextrology books said about me too?

I must be impressive and attractive to be happy.
I must be secure and safe to be happy.
I must be peaceful and easy to get along with to be happy.
I must be perfect and good to be happy.

I also got INTP, Sally, what did I get in college that you totally disagreed with and then touched me and I went all euuuwww? I forget! I now it was an I, but other than that.

But how much of this is innate and how much is being a WASPy orphan? I mean Moms has said "WTF is with hugging friends you see every week??" (Obviously, not a direct quote) and I realized, well, that's where I get THAT from. Hugs are only for relatives, friends you haven't seen in, oh, five years (hi saz!!!!) and boys you fancy and want to brush your rack against.

This week there is going to be option a and b and I am rilly, rilly hoping for option c (under the guise of b, but of course)

i need a nap

I took vicodin today, it's working except for the painkilling part.

I bought more yarn and needles the past few days. And now I'm thinking, this needs some fun fur with it, so back to the local for me, next week. I bought 00 DPNs. Will I ever use these? I fear I am too impatient.

My knitting class was fun. Too bad I had to go to work afterwards. But I learned slip stitching with different colors, so I think I will make that plaid jacket from Interweave this fall or winter, whenever I can fit it into the budget. I have the knit cruise this month, and possibly a hair cut and a digital camera to look forward to paying for. Although I will probably get my rewards check next month!

I need to start making money!

speaking of, jm in the am played the "ripping off the heathcliff theme song" song which i now realise ALSO rips off little peggy march, too! I wish the djs would say something about this, it is annoying me

i've grown since 2001. and shrunk again, too, now that i think about it

So I just found out that a former fling told his girlfriend that he couldn't remember if he had slept with me or not! Ha! Which is total bs, unless you can't remember getting laid on your birthday, but really, it's just too funny. And then there was the catty "he said that to you, too??" gossip that followed, and I dont' care.

I love getting "I knew I was right!" validation about situations.

(any sazzers, call me if you want the full deal)

I suppose I should have titled this 30 seconds in Tokyo (Rosemary)

panic!

my interview went ok, but now i'm worried about getting the job, i don't want to get stuck in retail again, even if there are more exciting things, like traveling to the javitts center!

Let all the poisons that lurk in the mud hatch out.

ROFFLES!!!!!

oh, their labor day is gonna be hoot, and will there even be a labor day for next year for them?

i like size 15 needles, OK????

The other day I had a phone order, and I swear it was, uh , our favorite Lake George area food personality. But it wasn't. I nearly said something, mind you.

I am watching the Pennies From Heaven miniseries, and I laughed (non-stop!) when on the audio commentary it was described as not looking dated & from the 70s. Are you kidding? It's got the whole inside tape/outside film Masterpiece Theater shows from the 70s look to it.

How am I going to watch all this, and my Degrassi netflix? And why does my library keep getting new DVDs that I have just wtached via netflix? They have all 4 League of Gentleman DVDs! Well, maybe some week when I get BORED. I wish they would get more Homicide box sets. When does Spaced get released statseside, maybe they'll get that!

I made my reservation for KNIT CRUISE blah blah stitches conflict blah blah whatever, I am a horrible trendy novelty yarn buying urban knitter type, I belong on that boat. I am going to get a digital camera SOON as reward for job leaving/ job getting (I hope)/weight goal making/room organizing project finishing. (added bonus: making the phone call onw ork's dime!

Damn, I hope I am getting overtime on this over 40 hour week.

it sounds like a loophole to me

so while most purchases are prohibited this week for my regular customers, shopping for bargains is ok?? but buying things on sale is joyful! i just don't understand.

happy summer fun time!

So, I inadvertantly downloaded a knitting magazine's advertising kit, and I've been comparing myself to the reader profile (the info in which must be repeated every other page, my goodness)

Average household income:$73,375

(I think I made a tenth of that last year, ouch!)

Education:94% attended college; 33% completed graduate school

(ahem)

Marital status:75% are married

(um)

Location: Most live in urban or suburban areas

(what's left???)

Employment: 77% are employed; 43% of those are employed full-time
(huh)

Skill level: Expert or above-average knitters.
(I'd like to think I am above-average)

Average number of projects knit per year: 7.5, mostly women’s garments
(ha!ha! or maybe it just seems like I do more than 7? Or that OH NO I KNIT SCARVES FROM NOVELTY YARNS THE HORROR THE HORROR I AM RUINING THE CRAFT!!! AND ON 11+ SIZE NEEDLES NO LESS!!!)

Spending habits: readers spend an average of $122 on yarn for each project and $1,173 on knitting-related materials and supplies per year

(no on the first one, but my god, have I spent that much and yarn and accoutrements?? I have no idea! My $250 key tag is $5 short of being full, but that's just one store! I don't even know anymore. Any yet, my stash is not that big, comparatively. But that's like me saying , I only have 1000 or so records and 100 or so CDs, that's not a lot, isn't it)

I spent so much at the Point sale, but in the dangerous world of RELATIVISM it's not that much 12 skeins! $54! It's bubkes!

I wonder how much the NYC Knit Cruise is, because I AM SO GOING. Between that and the WFMU goes to Sullivan Co with one of my favorite people in tow in 3 1/2 weeks, I'm kinda psyched lately. August is an improvement on things!

Especially since I have a job offer! It's not great but it will keep me busy, it could lead to something (I am hoping corporate head quarters, or Interweb HQ, or the magazine, or what have you, but hey foot in the door, internally recruitedcakes), it's a nice excuse to leave the current job, and it's nice to be wanted! Plus in some way it is a more helping people do something worthwhile job then selling shit. Although I know, I know, diet industry BLAH BLAH BLAH.

And I bought new sneaker, black Converse with magenta edging and lacing HAWT. It was that or lavender Sauconys, oooo!

good bye job!

August has started with me getting the Law and Order coloring book in the mall so WHOOOO!!! A better month than last one UGH.

Especially since we are severely understaffed at work and I am working more then fulltime hours AND I am being paid less then some who has worked her a month and is only a sales associate while I have been with the company for 30 (!!!!) months total. Plus, my manager did the 'I am not going to fire you, you have to quit' move to the assistant manager. In the middle of outrageous sales and no a/c?!?! wtf!!
