I have to apologise because all the measurements are in grams and litres and decilitres and not in ounces and pints... etc... because that's what we use in here (Estonia). i tried to calculate more or less all the measurements though and i hope i got them right.

Tomato Soup

'oh yes, we're so sweet
have a bite of starlight
i sense a taste of anger
of sweet bitterness'
(the wannadies, 'oh yes it's a mess')

1 tbsp olive oil
1-2 onions
2-3 cloves garlic
> litres of water
1-2 herbal stock cubes
2-3 potatoes
some leek
5-8 ripe tomatoes, or 1 can (400g) of canned tomatoes
1 tbsp butter
0.5 tbsp flour
fresh basil
salt, white pepper

1: skin tomatoes. the easiest way to do so is to make some cuts into their skin and pour them over with hot water. let them stay there for 5-8 minutes. After they're done, don't pour the water away, you'll need it later.

2: skin and cut the rest of the vegetables. Don't cut them into very small pieces but that kind of normal.

3: heat the oil in the kettle and onions and garlic in there.

4: now use the water you (possibly) used to skin the tomatoes. If not, it's ok too. Then use water from tap. Heat the water and boil the rest of the vegetables there.

5: add tomatoes you have cut into pieces.

6: now tip this mixture into the machine that will make a puree out of this. If you don't own such a device (like i don't) you can also press it through sieve.

7: now. When you have what looks more or less like a puree in your hands, heat it again. Mix flour and butter with the help of the fork and add the mixture to the puree. Boil the whole thing for 5 minutes.

8: season and add some French cream if you like (it makes the soup milder).

9: bon appetit!

Fried Vegetables

'morning light i feel-
come and make a meal of me,
i'm hot this morning.
and i must say miss, this dish is delicious.
you can have some more for dinner.'
(trash can sinatras, 'how can i apply.?')

Fry paste:
2 eggs
2 tbsp olive oil
2.5dl (250ml) beer
2.5dl wheat flour
0.5tbsp salt
2tbsp minced basil

Veggies:
Broccoli, baby corn, baby carrots, celery etc.

For frying, you need:
0.5 litres of corn or soy oil

1: mix egg yolks and oil. Add alternately flour and beer. Season the paste with salt and basil. In the end gently add egg whites that have been beaten into the thick foam.

2: now cut those vegetables that need cutting into the right size (mouthfuls). Dry them with kitchen paper if needed, as they should be quite dry before you start the frying.

3: heat the oil. (You can test the right temperature with piece of bread: if bread gets deliciously brown in the hot oil with 10 seconds then it's ready for frying.) Now lower the heat a bit and start frying.

4: dip piece of vegetable in paste and drop it carefully into hot oil. Add 2-3 pieces in simultaneously. When they look golden brown lift them out from oil and let them lay on kitchen paper that will suck the excessive oil out of them.

5: now continue the 4th point until all the veggies are fried.

6: serve with mayonnaise that has been seasoned with a drop of fresh lemon juice.

2. beat eggs and sugar into decent foam. Add cooled butter, blended seasonings and grated carrots and mix into dew.

3. tip the mixture into cake mould that you have lined with baking paper or with butter/flour.
