This is the words page. It's for things I've written, or maybe things I'm going to write, and even things other people have written. It's small now but it will grow slowly. I'm not a specialist in anything, so there will end up being lots of different things here.

Stories

I keep meaning to write more stories, but I'm lazy. This is one I wrote years ago, when I was still at school, to win a competition. It wasn't that good, so it ended up being a runner up. Still, I won £8, and it was published in the Grimsby Evening Telegraph, under a big headline as if it was a news article (although they did edit it rather). The topic of the competition was "The Family", and the story is called The Surrogate.

Here's another story, called Inertia. It was also written for a competition - in this case, for the webzine Friends Of The Heroes - which it won. If it looks a bit odd, that's because the competition rules were to write a very short story containing three specific, unrelated-looking fragments of text.

Poems

I can't write them. I don't even know what I'm supposed to be looking for in a good poem half the time. Despite this, I ended up writing a couple, which you can find here.

Sinister Stuff

That's Sinister as in the mailing list. We have the Sinister Questionnaire Answers page, which is the answers to a questionnaire written by Amy Longcore and me and posted to the list (in strict contravention of the FAQ) in May 2002. The original questionnaire was written and posted by Amy in autumn 2001, but the answers were never published.

Now, we also have the archives of the Sinister Recipe Tree, a Sinister spinoff started in summer 2002 by Terry Underwear, for - as you might expect - Sinister people to share recipes with each other. The recipe archive is small, but growing.
